Google tightens control methods with excessive advertising

Now sites with a high content of advertisements will be subjected to more stringent penalties from Google. The algorithm of the search engine recently has been updated that allows it to monitor the ratio of useful content and advertising that user may find when going to a page.

The company has repeatedly faced with complaints of users who, going to the site from Google, could not quickly find the information they need from the fact that it was “hidden under a layer of” advertising that fills the upper edge of the page. Thus, the content they need may be detected, only scrolling contents down the page.

Having analyzed all the complaints, Google changed the algorithm and in the result sites which have enormous number of ads that is on the top of the page will jeopardize its ranking in SERP. Moreover, Google includes the fact that advertisings are one of the most common ways of site monetizing. That’s why updated algorithm will get round the sites where the “upper” advertising is at an acceptable level. The company didn’t specify how this level is determined but pointed that user should not experience difficulties in finding the necessary information.
